About

FairICT is a communal portal that promotes sharing of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) fairly. Our primary objective is to provide a service that enables the technology have and technology have not societies bridge the global digital divide.

FairICT works on a very simple principle “sharing ICT technology and services fairly“. We believe the technology have not society can become competitive, productive and efficient with access to emerging innovative ICT technologies and services at affordable cost. FairICT provides all stakeholders in ICT (including individuals, infrastructure providers, financial institutions, government agencies, private or commercial companies) with access to a comprehensive database of information on emerging ICT projects, technologies and services. In addition, we provide access to updated information (including contacts and location) of institutions and individuals who need specific ICT technologies or services by a click of a button.

FairICT’s core services aim to empower the majority of the world’s population, mainly in developing countries, who can not afford or have limited access to basic ICT technology or services. We strongly believe that in our principle of sharing ICT fairly, FairICT offers a truly global self-sustaining alternative solution for bridging the current global digital divide gap. FairICT hopes to change the current Brain-Drain paradigm to a Brain-Gain reality which is aligned with similar efforts, such as the UN Millennium Goals for 2015.
